Pegism~;coined in 2005 UK elections following a campaign in the Guardian by Polly Toynbee to get Labour voters to put pegs on noses and vote Labour despite misgivings over policies such as the Iraq war. To peg~;to deny, disavow, repudiate or refuse to oneself that a party is in the wrong and convince oneself to blindly believe said party is right through a few good deeds, despite bad deeds having been displayed. (alt);to categorise or define someone/thing. peg~;pin, bolt of wood/metal.
